TOP LOCK 71460 Fall Arrest Block allows freedom of movement and reduces clearance distance. Connecting element in a fall arrest system. Suitable for working at heights. Fall arrest block includes: 2,5 m long polyamide webbing (width 50 mm) with aluminium screw karabiner, plastic housing with swivel eye and steel screw karabiner, energy absorber. Fall arrest block with breaking strength 15 kN and force reduction 6 kN.
Complies with EN 360 standard for personal protective equipment against falls from a height – Fall arresters.
Connect the fall arrest block to the chest or back attachment point of the body harness. Do not connect the fall arrest block to the positioning belt! Do not use any extra devices between anchor point and fall arrest block karabiner! The other end of the lanyard must be connected with an anchor point. Anchor must be of the right type for the work (complies with EN 795).
The fall arrester must be checked regularly for signs of damage. Inspect for cuts, burns, corrosion, kinks, frays or worn areas. Inspect any sewing for loose, broken or damaged stitching. Test the lifeline retraction and tension by pulling out several feet of the lifeline and allow it to retract back into the unit. Always maintain a light tension on the lifeline as it retracts. The lifeline should pull out freely and retract all the way back into the unit. Do not use the unit if the lifeline does not retract.
